Rarely do we repeat breedings .. we feel it best to move along since we plan
breedings so infrequently.
However, since only a single female was whelped in our first litter
and, since the overall quality of the
litter was so superb (both in conformation and temperament) ...
we decided to try for a few females from this sound, outcross breeding.
(whelping Summer, 2002)
This breeding truly combines the best of the
"old" with the best of the "new." Here are some
details:
Willie is out of full Japanese import
stock. His mother, Japan,
is one of only two female Japanese imports to achieve AKC championship status. Both
of Willie's parents have won the prestigious Japanese AKIHO Gold award.
Willie, a large import, stands over 27" tall and weighs 95 lbs (at 20 months).
He is structurally sound, substantial and exhibits a sweet, non-aggressive
temperament.
His hips, eyes, and thyroid have been cleared as normal (OFA prelim "good" /
CERF AK-3047/1999/20)
Haiku is third-generation Miisan
breeding and is tightly linebred on two American foundation imports, Jap.Gr.Ch. Teddy
Bear of Toyohashi Seiko, ROM, and Jap.Gr.Ch. Haruhime, ROM. Her
grandsires are both Group-placing, multi BOB winners: Ch.
Tanoshii Kuro Neko-Go, ROM; and, Ch. Miisan's
Enter the Dragon. Her great-grandsire (on her dam's side) is Int. FCI, Am., Can., Mex. Ch. Tanoshii Akuto, TD.
Haiku's temperament is exceptional, based in five generations of
"temperament-tested" ancestry.
Her hips, eyes, and thyroid have been cleared as normal (OFA AK-10453G35F / CERF
AK-3048/1999/36).
This breeding represents a very low inbreeding co-efficient on
Ch. Okii Yubi's Sachmo of Makoto
(a single occurence in the 6th generation). Thus, these puppies represent rare,
valuable "outcross" breeding potential if, in the future, any should be bred to the majority of current
"American" lines.
As is our custom, we retained all of the puppies from this litter for
full evaluation of the effects
of recent import bloodlines on our established bloodline strain.
The dogs pictured on the site entrance page, "Wayne-O"
and "Sparky" are out of this litter.
We have also kept the single bitch from this litter, "Phoebe" (pictured above).
We co-own (with Patti Hotmire) a white-faced,
pumpkin-orange male similar in type to Wayne-O (he's called "Clyde")
